Kevin Barry is the author of the story collections Dark Lies The Island and There Are Little Kingdoms and the novels Beatlebone and City Of Bohane. His awards include the IMPAC Dublin City Literary Award, Goldsmiths Prize, and the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature. He is the Spring 2017 Burns Visiting Scholar in Irish Studies at Boston College.

In his talk, Barry will outline the forces, influences, and circumstances that have shaped him as a writer and will offer short readings from his works.
